Thanks again to everyone that completed our timetable survey. As a result we will be changing and adding some extra classes that you can see highlighted in pink.

These changes will take effect on Tuesday 4th October 2016.

                                  ** 6 week blocks

As you can see above we are moving the Monday and Friday Mums and Bubs classes to 9am for those who would like to get out that little bit earlier on weekdays.

We are adding an extra early morning class on Wednesday. This class starts at 6am, again for those who would like to be out that little bit earlier – please note this will be a 4 week trial at first to gauge numbers.

We’ve swapped the 6.30pm and 7.30pm classes on Thursday – B.O.X. will now be at 6.30pm and Boxing at 7.30pm. This is for the people that cannot attend earlier than 7.30pm and prefer Boxing over B.O.X. Our previous timetable only had one 7.30pm Boxing class for the entire week!

Lastly, we have added Yoga back to the schedule in 6 week blocks. Our first block will start Tuesday 4th October and the last session will be Tuesday 8th November. We will add another block in the new year.

Above are the changes to the Gym Schedule.

The biggest change here is that Kettlebell is being shortened to 30 minutes, but partnered with HIIT. Wherever there is a Kettlebell class, you can see a HIIT class will follow. You are not required to do both, they are still separate classes, but we believe this partnership will work fantastically.

We are moving Kettlebell on Saturday to 9.30am. We’ve had many people saying they have difficulty choosing between Kettlebell and Pilates on Saturday – so we hope we have fixed this for you!

If you have any questions or concerns about these changes, please contact us via email – kayley@theboxingroom.com.au

The Boxing Room798

My name is Lisa, I am married to Pete and together we have 8 children and 1 grandson. I came across The Boxing Room when it first opened, but as I was pregnant at the time I waited until after the birth to join, and I have never looked back. All my previous employment has been office work doing accounts payable/receivable and payroll, but after my last position was made redundant I decided to do something I am very passionate about and that was to teach Pilates.  I completed my course 9 months ago and I now teach 2-3 classes a week at TBR,  and I hope to bring the benefits of Pilates into your own lives with posture changes and core strength.  I also compete in Surf Life Saving, love travelling, gardening, reading and enjoying life with my children and husband.

Lisa has also completed her pregnancy Pilates certification. If you know of anybody trying to conceive, is pregnant or has given birth recently and wanting to do Pilates, please let them know about Lisa. We are always looking for new people to share our knowledge with.
What’s your favourite exercise at TBR?
Anything strength related, especially dumbbell flies, bench press and push-ups.
What drew you to TBR?
The high intensity of the boxing classes

raisedfist-5

My name is Anne and I am 27 years old. I was born and raised in Germany and moved to Adelaide about 1.5 years ago. I have been studying Patisserie for the last year, which quickly lead to becoming a member at TBR to counter act all the beautiful treats we made at school. I finished my studies to become a personal trainer 3 months ago and I’m looking forward to further develop my skills at The Boxing Room. Please feel free to ask any questions you have about fitness (or cake) and come have a chat with me when I’m around at the gym.

What’s your favourite exercise at TBR?

Roundhouse Kicks or clams during Pilates.

What drew you to TBR?

Finding a place where I can box without having to spar, especially against more experienced fighters. TBR welcomes everyone no matter what level of experience, which makes it easier to start out. I’m thankful to be able to be part of that.

What’s one of your favourite combos?

Any well flowing 6 punch combination during B.O.X.

Favourite movie/band/book?

Favourite movie – “La Haine”

Which celebrity would you like to train?

Charlie Hunnam

Why try our boxing classes?

  • Our boxing classes are equal parts fitness, muscle building, socialising, fun and stress release – you might even connect with some new friends!
  • Boxing classes are a great way to achieve your body goals in minimum time. This is because boxing classes combine cardio and strength training in one hit. So if you’re looking to drop weight, tone up, get strong and have some fun, then you don’t want to miss out on this!
  • In our classes you’re only competing with yourself. You work at your own pace, with your own bag. There’s no judgement – everyone’s way too busy doing their own thing to notice what your ability level is!
  • It’s a safer option than using focus pads. Working with our equipment means nobody has to catch punches (a highly specialised skill to get right). And you can never get this kind of muscle workout from boxing drills with focus pads.
